Greetings...first post, first bus. Mr. Bryce Gaston, also know as Busted Knuckle, recently delivered our 2000 MCI D4000 ISTV to us from IN to PA. Previous life as a prisoner transport bus. My problem is this, I can't find anything wrong! So I am looking for an exhaustive checklist, specifically for engine and tranny (DD60, B500), so I can establish a baseline of ownership. Unit has 185,000 miles and has been kept to the Feds schedule of maintenance. Manual is on its way from MCI. Any and all comments welcomed. TIA

Buy you a Pro/Link with the appropriate software and there is your checklist it tells all.not much to check on a 60 series except the antifreeze and oil the B500 fluid changes and filters. You purchased a real good bus fwiw enjoy the ride,a 60 series in 40 ft MCI should haul the mail even at the 400 hp setting
Life is short drink the good wine first

Hi Jon,
Glad to see you made to the board.
I forgot to suggest to you that you buy a pro/link to keep up with important details about your engine/transmission.

Clifford you are once again correct! This bus is in awesome shape and runs like a deer! Never had a problem with it from the prison all the way to PA!
I was amazed at how new every part on this bus appeared and it's 16 years old!
EVERYTHING worked! (even the sirens)
Again welcome aboard Jon and enjoy it.
Also don't be afraid to ask questions here that is what these boards are for.

Thanks fellas for the response! Any suggestions on a Pro link? Seems to be several options....most of them a significant investment.
BK...thanks again for your service!

Jon,
I'm just glad i could be of service and get the bus out of prison and on to it's new home w/you!

As for a pro-link just keep an eye out for one on Ebay or Craigslist!

A prolink is good if you are going to do a lot of work on the bus yourself.  If you want something that will give you any faults and be able to clear them the Silverleaf will do that and also give you all of the other info you need.  Lots less money and easer to use.  I don't know any info that you would need that the Silverleaf wouldn't give.
Lots of luck with the new coach and don't expect many problems with that setup.
