Honestly, this is the first time I've ever heard of this, so I'm just as curious as you are. My suspicion is that nobody else has heard of it either.

I havent heard of it either, the lense has small (Fresnel) lenses moulded into the overall lense that are picked by the design engineers to spread the light in a specific way, spreading it out and concentrating it in other areas, so to speak. The bottle is designed to mount in a specific way, as far as Im aware,  lvmci...

You probably have a 35 year old headlight bucket that has shifted three degrees counter clockwise over time.  It's about the last thing I would think about.  No, mine don't do that but then mine have been changed to square headlights.

My curbside headlight assembly is rotated slightly clockwise.  It is clearly a case of poor workmanship.

Could the bucket be from the other side? Maybe left and right sides are slightly different. Bulb does match any other units and not an incorrectly assembled unit?

Possibly, but again, I don't know for sure if right and left sides are different. It seems like they are, because the adjuster screws are typically on the top and outside,
if I recall correctly.

Maybe it's installed upside down or something.

The buckets are right and left. but the left one has the oriontation notches turned slitley 1/8 in. it is made to turn the sealed beam. but i don't know why! thanks for the responce. ;D

Don't you think a 37 year old bus has had a lot of changes/repairs over the years, it did not leave the factory that way as even back then correct headlight aiming was controlled by the feds.>>>Dan

Well guys I have a Trailways Eagle here that has the same notches on the left can he is talking about to rotate the beam I guess that what he is talking about but I have no idea why you would want to rotate a sealed beam unless you want more coverage on that side or it could have been for identification of some type ?

Is there a glass nipple sticking out of the back of the sealed beam that matches the bucket notch? Could they have been something else than sealed beams? Lvmci...
