Dave - If you're using Windows/Office, there are a few ways - here are a couple.

1.) Quick 'n dirty - You can highlight the pictures in Windows Explorer, right-mouse-click and select "Send to..." then select "Mail Recipient".  At that point, there should be a dialog that allows you to select which size you want to compress the picture down to (it gives an estimated file size with each option), then you click OK.  That creates an e-mail attachment with the pictures.  Keep the e-mail open and then drag the attachments into another folder.  You can post them from there.

2.) Not so quick - Copy each picture you want to shrink and post to a separate folder so you don't lose the originals.  Open each picture in Microsoft Office Picture Manager; when the picture is open, in the top menu under Picture select Compress Pictures.  Over to the right, it will give you the compression options; select the one that works.  Then close the picture and save the changes (that is why you need to start with a copy of the picture).

Hope that helps,

No worries, Dave - just the same, you wouldn't want me working on your bus!   ;)

I simply take pictures at the lowest resolution my camera can do if I want to post them.  I have also used resize.it on the web to resize my pictures.

There is a free program called Irfanview http://www.irfanview.com/ That does a very good job of resizing. You need a plugin, also free from the same site. I've been using it for years. It's one of the fastest picture viewers I've found to do quick look and keep/delete for large numbers of pics. I use largest setting available in camera, you can always make it smaller, but you can't make it bigger later.
