I want to thank all of the great bus folks who were so kind to post replies here (and on the Eagle site), send me emails and call.

I approached my birthday with fear and trepidation.  Turning 70 is just plain scary!  But you folks made it a very pleasant experience.

Clifford touched on the fact that the past couple of years have been challenging.  All three of our daughters have had major medical issues.  The economy took its toll on the business.  Closing the business was both painful and pain relieving.  I will continue to keep slightly involved in the market.  Indeed, it looks like Pat and I will be representing SilverLeaf  at the FMCA event in Gillette, WY in September.

Pat and I are in Salt Lake City for her convention.  Her activities/meetings are non-stop, so I arranged to spend my birthday with a great friend and fellow bus nut.  Kent (kwidd on the forum) and I had a wonderful day.  We even got to take a ride in his 57 Crown.  Kent has been in this hobby a lot longer than most of us.  He bought his Crown in '81 and has converted it over the years including an engine conversion to a rear mounted Cummins L10.  I have attached a photo.

While Pat and I have had a few hiccups the past year or two, we consider ourselves very fortunate. We enjoy reasonably good health, enjoy our wonderful kids and grandkids and get to do a bit of traveling in the bus.  But in addition to all that, we have wonderful friendships for the bus conversion community.

Again, thanks.

Jim,

Hope you had a Happy Birthday!

I count you as one of the many wonderful people I have met through this hobby.

A  little advice about Jim.  If you are trying to walk up the pavilion at Bussin or any gathering to get some coffee.

Walk by yourself.  Its not Jim, but 20 people will want him to stop and talk to him.   :P

Jim hope you have many, many more.

Best wishes,

Cliff
