Hi all.  Rose Mary wants to know the easiest (by easiest, she means safest) route from Mt. Rushmore to West Yellowstone.  Thanks for sharing!!!

x2  Did that route in '09.

Just be careful if you are westbound out of the Tetons on US 26.  There are 10% downhill grades into Idaho.  Make sure your Jacobs brake is working!!

OK we did do this route and it was not bad until we got to that 10 mile  6 to 8+ grade down hill  the first mile was not bad 2 and 3 were on dirt  road construction the 4 was bad, white smoke at the drive and tag. there was a pull off on the left side just as I went to the left the car behind me pasted  but  I did get in and stopped drum temps are at 425 a
hour later temps are at 195  so took the truck off (6000 lbs off) 2 gear and jake the next 6 miles all good and put the truck back on and now we are in west yellowstone Thanks Jerry

Grayhound, what road are you talking about?  I am confused; don't remember a downhill portion into Yellowstone.  Or are you talking about leaving Yellowstone?
