Folks -

This coach was previously on eBay and is sitting in east-central CT, I guessing as part of an estate sale (the lawyer had it posted on eBay).  Sale must have felt through, received an e-mail that it is headed for the scrapper.  I'm interested in saving it as a restoration (it's still a seated bus - all seats in place, intact rear window, no less - and apparently no significant leaks).  According to what I can find listed, it was originally delivered to Hudson Transit in northern NJ (now operating as part of Coach USA) as their #320 in January, 1963.  So I'm hoping either the NJ historical transportation or the Hershey bus museum might have an interest once it's back to life.  I'll work on that part.

Questions for the group -
1.) Has anyone else looked at this coach?  If it's a disaster, I'm not going to drive from PA to even look.
2.) Does anyone know of a decent bus mechanic near Shelton, CT that can help me jump it and get it started?  It has run in the past year or so, but I'm assuming batteries are dead.  Also would like to check as much mechanical items as possible without taking it to a shop.

Take care,

Sorry, need to correct the location - Shelton is in south-central CT, on US 8 between I-84 and I-95 (or between New Haven and Bridgeport, CT).

I live about 1 hour away from Shelton in Connecticut. I could look at it for you and maybe take some pictures but would not be able to do it until the weekend. I work days.

Thanks a lot for the offer, Steve!  The guy who posted it actually *has* pictures (saw a bunch on eBay).  I need to ping him again.

Same here, I could only come up on weekends.  It's about a 3-hour drive for me; not hateful, and I'm sure I could get someone to ride along.  I don't want you to go out of your way right now, so let me see if I can get pictures from the guy first.  If I do go up there for an in-person look, it would be nice to have a second set of eyes, for sure, so I'd welcome your company then if our schedules worked out.

Take care,

I'd be happy to take a look at it.  I work in New Haven, not too far.  I own a 4106 so I know them pretty well.

Get me the info and I'll see when I can get there.
