1983 Prevost towing CR-V

Hello-
In about a week I'm going to drive 2100 miles to purchase a 1983 Prevost. I plan to tow my CR-V back 2100 miles behind the bus.

I understand this bus has a hitch standard. How much of the setup can I assume is there if the PO didn't tow with it?

Flying out was the first thought, but then I have no shuttle vehicle in case of an issue. And this way I can bring a small generator, tools, and have a warm place to be if the heat isn't working.

What should I look into further or be concerned about?

Are you towing 4 wheels down, if so you need a baseplate for your car. Check the owners manual to see if that vehicle can be towed that way. Blue Ox sells baseplates      Cheers Gerry

Lights will be 24volt on 83 prevost.  Your car will be 12 volt. Has previous owner made adapter/converter for toad lighting. My 89 prevost plug in on bus was 24 volt. No gen set in bus?  I recently priced a car rental at Phoenix   aprox$70 for 5 days.  Just throwing thoughts out there.  Don't forget your internet connection in case of trouble. How about using a rented tow dolly for this trip. I personally don't want to fool with one, but in this case, it might make sense. Most of them have lights on the fenders. If the bus isn't equipped with relays that provide 12 volt power to a light plug, you can pick up a couple of 24 volt bulbs at NAPA and be on your way. Keep us posted. Good luck on your adventure.
