Hi All,

300 gal. fuel tank
200 gal. fresh water
100 gal. gray
100 gal. black
Xantrex inverter (not sure how big)
12.5 KW Diesel Generator
3 13.5K BTU roof airs w/ 1K Heat Strips
3 50K BTU Automotive heaters for living space
6 6V House batteries in Series/Parallel Connected to supply 660 AmpHours @ 12V
Tires are in pretty good shape
Factory conversion, looks original, dated but in pretty good shape

This was on an RV dealer's lot for $90K. We have seen similar (in age & mileage) WanderLodge coaches FSBO on the net listed for $45K-$60K.

Does anyone know the history of this coach? What would be a reasonable price for this coach in today's market? I am listening to many of you say that the bus market is so low. But would a dealer be willing to go low?

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Mike

Hi Mike,
First off I know nothing about the Wonderlodge values these days but..
my guess is a dealer in his right mind would take ANYTHING offered in this market!

Shoot I'd offer $25,000! What they gonna do say no? If so raise it a little.

I think a Wanderlodge is way more in the Class A Motorhome arena, for all it's bus heritage - people don't look at them as converted buses, really, since they really aren't factory conversions.  They really are factory built motorhomes that happen to be based on a bus structure.  That said, the Class A motorhome market is pretty down too.  My take is it's worth what you decide it's worth.  You can compare to a lot of S&S moho's, or to Newell's, or to pro-converted Prevost's.  Bottom line is, it's a 24 year old motorhome, the motorhome stuff is either well maintained and good to go, or not, same with all the electrics, gennie, inverter.  The value could range from $20K to what they are asking.   My gut is saying around $40K, no more than that.

Ask the guys at the Wanderlodge forum, they probably know the unit and can offer great advice.

Having played the RV MCI, Eagle and now Foretravel games, I would be thinking in the $30-$45k range for that age, one issue for the BlueBird RV, some folks love them and the more educated/experienced RV types stear away from then due to the rusting (all metal body) and handling, think school/local transit type vehilce, the RV is a modified school bus, they have eye apeal, but sooner or later you will realize what it is.
But it is your money, have a ball, you only go around once.

We toured around some of the used rv/car/toy lots here at Yuma, and saw a Newell coach....I think it was a 92 with an 8V-92 500HP and Allison Auto. Needed some new 24.5 tires, but just gorgeous shape otherwise. Did not hear it run.

Sign on it says new was $900K plus, was asking $90K used, reduced to $55K.

It looked to be very well cared for.

If I didnt have Papabus, and had an extra $50K floating around...........................

Here is a link with another 1988 PT40 for $49K, with a lot of recent upgrades.  Also, according to the history section in 1988 the PT40 came in 96" and 102" widths.
