Out this afternoon stripping down the old 8V71 in preparation for the trip to the salvage yard in a few weeks.  Took off the N65 injectors, the spring type fuel control rods, the valve bridges, etc.  Still debating pulling the heads, pretty sure the LH is cracked judging by the built up mung in it's manifold port.  Anyway, pulled the blower off and sure enough, there is a nice coat of gritty munge all in the air box.  The blower has maybe 20K miles on it, it was a Reliabilt rebuild, but as expected it's very dirty inside.  Would the beam lobes have been toasted by the dust, or is it worth saving?
