Going rate for storage tanks? What did you pay?

Friends, looking for some idea of what you paid to get your fluid storage tanks. I am looking at 40-80 gallon tanks. I will need three(clear, grey and black).

I will order the connections spun in!

If you made your own, let me know the cost and approximate size.

My original tanks were 1/4 aluminum and the bottom turned porous and leaked (yic) I flipped the tanks and used them for another year.

My solution was to build plywood tanks for fresh (under master bed) and black/grey. Lots of work, actually quite expensive and despite the small fortune in coatings... they leaked (yic)

My new bus came with Stainless Steel tanks which are probably perfect but used up the entire bay. (I would sell them but I live in Edmonton)

My solution was to befriend a local plastics worker. He built 1/2" poly tanks for $450 for both!!! The guy thought I was overkill and the military orders smaller material for hauling metal parts. Anyway, custom tanks one under the master bed and one under the bus with poly tubes for fittings welded in place - last a lifetime and fits perfectly.

This is what I used. I put two in the back bay of my 9. I had room for pump water heater on one side and two 20 gallon propane tanks on the other side. One tank black and gray and the other fresh. Two years with boondocking and RV hookup no problems.

For my MC8, I bought two of these 49 gallon rectangular tanks to start, with the ability to twin them, if we decide we need more. 60" x 21" x 9.25". Fresh and a combined gray/black.

Darned if I can remember what I paid... and now there's no prices on the website...

The 21 inch width is put vertically, which leaves 3 inches or so to share, top and bottom, to insulate, fitting under the utility drop in an MCI.

There are other suppliers around North America that make the same ones, this was the supplier I used local to me here in Southern Ontario.

I bought my four tanks from Ronco Plastics in Tustin CA and paid $2.50 per gallon, including fittings spin-welded where I want. The two fresh water tanks are 110 gal each, the black is 65 gal, and the gray is 115 gal. Shipping can be a deal breaker, but Ronco is just down the road from here so I drove my bus there to get them. Just make sure they'll fit through your bus door - mine had less than 1/8" to spare when we loaded them in!

Google Molded Polyethylene Tanks for your area you may get something from the oop's pile! They will also add the fittings where you want them. Thats what I did, very reasonable but do not remember price.

Might check your local salvage yard for a wrecked RV and see if it has any tanks.

I bought my 105 gallon tanks from RV Surplus in Elkhart for $149 each in April 2006. I was driving through on my way home from picking up my bus and I was able to take the tanks out to the bus to see if they fit or not. It looks like the price is up to $170 which is still pretty good. I've seen these tanks selling on Ebay for $225 plus $50 or more shipping.

chemical container lake wales fl. cheap. lots in stock. or lots of stock sizes. spin welding, great service. we put in 3 70 gal all the same. don't waste your money on black plastic, that's for outdoors in sunlight. The clear allows you to sort of see the levels. We went on the principle that if its safe to hold poisons in the environment then it will hold waste safely. has worked extremely well on our two coaches. free standing minor bracing. I think ours are 13 in by 47 in we lay-ed them on their side, 14'' wide 24 tall and 47 deep, allows for lots of storage on top of tanks. Just our way...................sorry but cost eludes this old brain..

Check out my post on my tanks form the recycling place. These are about 35 gallons each, but they have many sizes. Less than $35 for four tanks. I plan to use two for fresh, one for gray and another for black. And I got an extra 12-volt water pump, to transfer from near the bottom gray water tank to the top of black water tank, when needed. I may still add one more gray.
