Talked to Gene and he said our old lady was ready to come home to Naples. So I have a one way ticket to Asheville Regional Wednesday the 26th. and then to Gene's to pick the bus up. Haven't figured out how I'm going to get from the airport to Gene's yet, I have called several shuttle places and they all say "Where's Mill Spring"?

Everyone has given me great suggestions of how to come home but when I Google directions the route that includes 301 never comes up, and yet I am intrigued about coming home that way, then to Orlando and finally to Naples. Any suggestions?

I hate to drive long distances so I have arranged three days to travel home, which should be more than enough time even for the most lazy of drivers. I am really not a big fan of highway driving so the thought of driving back on I95 doesn't thrill me at all. Just want a nice leisurely cruise back home and chance to get used to the new power steering.

I have downloaded the new street view portion of Google maps and directions and have taken the helicopter ride home form Gene's coming down 27, looks like a nice enough way but still couldn't find 301. Guess I'll just have to find a paper map somewhere.

Dave,
Stop by John & Lois Vickery's on your way south. We are sitting in their drive now and there is still room for you.  If you want to take non interstates, from John & Lois', we take 17 to Wren, GA, US 1 to Folkston and pick up 301 at Folkston. 301 to Ocala, and I-75 from Ocala.  We are about 170 miles (3.5-4 hours) from Gene's place.  Give me a call 863-444-3400  Jack

Wow Jack, That sounds great. 175 miles is about all I want to drive in a day.

P.S. By the way Jack, thanks for all the help over the years setting up my satellite antenna. I finally got smart and installed a crank up HD antenna on the bus so I don't need to use the satellite dish any more. Guess you're out of a job there. But I do look forward to seeing you and Paula and enjoying the hospitallity of the Vickery's.
