Hinging upper cabinet doors

The ceiling thread made me think about how people hinge their upper cabinet doors.  I have uppers along both walls almost all along my entire salon/kitchen section.  My doors hinge upwards and have horrible hinges and lousy RV type spring struts to hold them open.  I hate them!  How have others done this, and what do you like best?
