Exceptional Easy shine!

I have no vested interest in this company. In fact, the product is available elsewhere, as well. It's a gel coat restoration product from MarineStore.com and it works as advertised! Makes dull shine with no buffing. period! Clean, dry and wipe on is all that's to it. It's not a wax and isn't applied like a wax. Cost is $60./qt (just enough to do a bus) and claims to last a year. I'll be watching it to see. The difference in the shine is like night and day. I love it! They sell complete kits also. I did the entire bus in a day instead of a week. If this isn't 'bus related' nothing is,

Sounds to me like it's for gel coat (fiberglass)

The little bit of research that I did suggest that it is for fiberglass. If the stuff worked on alluminum and stainless Im sure it would cost more then $60.

If it works on aluminum, I'll be all over it like ugly on a buzzard!! I REALLY need to shine it up. But I don't want to take it down to the point where it's not protected and have it start oxidizing.

Sorry Chaz, it doesn't specify aluminum. It says it works on stainless, but I haven't tried it on that except where it ran down the sides, and then it was a bugger to clean off. I got a little heavy handed as the day wore down LOL. It specifies that it's for fiberglass and that is what I originally purchased it for. But after doing a little research, I learned that it's the same product that is used on painted fiberglass RV's. So, me thinks (dangerous) why not try it on painted stainless. I've had a couple of problem spots that haven't responded to waxing and buffing, but now look like fresh paint. Now, every time I step outside the bus I have to take a step back and admire the shine. I'll never use wax again, that's for sure.
If there is any truth to being able to polish a turd, this'll do it! But like I said, I have no interest in this company beyond they supply a good product.
The label on the bottle says Lovett/Marine. Vertglas #3. I can't stress enough that you have to follow instructions closely. Good luck, Will

This stuff is advertised a lot here. I don't know how it compares to your specialist gelcoat wax stuff, but it's a fraction of the $60/qt price quoted and must (presumably?) be a very similar product.

It's sold everywhere so it must work ok, although I've never used it myself (I've never waxed or polished a car in my life).

There is a whole bunch of this "mystery" stuff around under many different names.

I've been accosted in parking lots by salesmen offering to shine up sections of my bus for free just to demonstrate their products. It appears to work well (I always have them do half the front for a good comparison) but my suspicious mind tells me it is all the same stuff.

So I agree, get the cheapest stuff until it is proven the higher priced stuff is better.

Chaz, I tested it on my aluminum mirrors and it shines. but I don't recommend it. I also won't be putting any on my bare stainless metal-leaves an oily shine after it dries.

Jeremy, trust me, it's not the same stuff. I've been working for several years to bring back paint without forking out for a new paint job. There are a lot of snake oil products out there that promise the moon and deliver the septic. I discovered this gel coat product when doing some research to refinish some gel coated signs I was working on. I tried it on the bus just for haha's and it looks great without hardly trying. I'm not trying to drum up business for anyone, just wanted to share what I learned with others that have faded paint and wax won't bring back no matter how much you buff.

Gus, I'm one of the cheapest bas.. you'll ever find, if I fork out $60. bucks for anything, it better do something pretty spectacular LOL Will

if you look on sailboat/gelcoat hull boat forums...for which these products were intended you will find lotsa opinions........ most not so good....
