Hi yo silver

OK, I've got another off-the-wall, thought provoking question for the experts. At my Coin and Relic Metal Detecting Club meeting this evening, one of the guys displayed a lapel pin he had found. It had the Greyhound dog on it, along with the lettering "PDDP". I'm thinking possibly Parlor Diesel Dual Purpose, or maybe Parlor Diesel Dual Power, if it represents the twin engine Scenic Cruiser. Any ideas or info?

I always thought that Prevo chose the letter H for the H-3 series cause they looked so much like a Hound without the stainless.

Didn't they? ::)

Hi yo silver

Ahhh! I see the coffee has kicked in. I stand corrected. I will no longer embarass myself on that spelling issue. Besides, I usually find any number of other ways to do that. LOL  I'm looking forward to more helpful and hilarious replies! Thanks guys.

  Its interesting that a couple guys with nothing much in their pockets could start Bus service, and grow it into a national system spawning the greatest Buses in the industry, becoming the most profitable Bus company in the world.

 But its even more fascinating how they used their massive profits to buy up corporations like Armour foods, Dial soap, and evenually over 100 corporations, earning so much money that the board of directors could look down on the Bus corporation as the least profitable within the group, and allowed it to die.

Interesting. I don't know much about the Greyhound story.

Anyway, as far as the decision to sell goes, no doubt it's that same  willingness to accept change and pursue opportunity that made 'em what they are.

It's crazy how some very successful corporations can become so top-heavy and cash-drunk and then stray so far from the roots that it ruins 'em. Not saying whatsoever that that's the Greyhound situation.
