My family and I stayed there in 2005. It's more of a parking lot than a campground.

If you plan on going to the city, it's a good base because a subway station is nearby.

If you want to camp, well you can see lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty, but it's not like being at a lake.

If I go back to NYC, I'd stay there again.

my nephew has a recital at the new school of music in April and this is the cheapest way to go, and no threat of bedbugs in a $250 hotel.

funny i had no idea when i started this thread ,someone else was looking for the same thing i was.i would much rather stay in a hotel and drive down in the Honda but this will be cheaper in the long run and will be easier to transport my wife's rascal scooter.

Be careful.  According to CBS "the highest concentration of bedbugs in the U.S. were in the Upper Level hotels/motels (in other words the pricey establishments)" so it appears that price doesn't enter into it.

my 2 brothers and a sister are staying in high rent hotels. she refuses to listen to all the bad reports on the chelsa hotel. and the brothers havent decided where to stay yet.
