Got back from Terlingua International Chili cookoff  last night.  Checked oil levels this morning. 1/2 gal low after 1500 miles. Ran like a new one,no problems. Just sit and ride. I won 1st place in Salsa competion and 2nd in small show team. Had a great time.

Good for you guys on the competition! I can atest, your chili is pretty darn good stuff!

To bad you only used 1/2 gallon of oil, you can't leave any markings! ;D

Very Cool John!

Are you saying you are a half gallon low in the bus or the chili? I know I have eaten some chili that made my belly become a half gallon low. Congrats on the Salsa

Len Silva

If it only used a half gallon I would definitely junk it before it gets any better.

Hi yo silver

I'm confused; did the half gallon of oil go into the chile, or what???

I did not have much computer time when I first posted this. Same trip last year I used 5 gal oil. Greased every vehicle behind me. I blame it on Smitt's oil that I had used for oil change. In October, I pressure washed engine and worked on oil leaks about every evening after work. After washing, I found oil cooler leaking severly. My big a## couldnot get in there to fix. Took bus to my favorite garage and Louis removed radiator and repaired leak. Being I'm hardheaded, I changed oil again. I again used Smitty's 40 wt
oil . It worked fine. 60 lbs pressure at 180 Degrees, would get own to 40 psi at 190 in the Davis mountains. Pulled a 16' carhauler with two atv's and  all the junk my wife could load on.

Friends, what I guess I,m being longwinded about is Listen to the other people on this board and fix them oil leaks.
Everything just worked better. A 1967 PD4903 that I had to hold back to 65 MPH . Unbelievable!
