Hi folks.

We spotted an MCI-6 this morning with Florida plates pulling a Chevy Cobalt (We think it was a Cobalt) Northbound on Toll 66 N in Western PA then Eastbound on Rt 22. My fiance was so impressed with the power and classic lines of the bus, she would have followed longer but we had had a deadline to get into Pittsburgh. We know that 6 conversions are rare.

Any ideas of who they are so we could offer a cup of coffee if and when they pass through again? We gotta make the Walmart stops in this area worth something...

Doug,

Back on June 6 I spotted a converted MC-6 at a diesel repair shop in Lewisberry, PA.  I didn't go in the lot to see what license plates were on it, and I didn't have my digital camera, and forgot that my new phone has a camera--or I would have gotten a picture.

It happened to be next to my favorite soft ice-cream shop.  Unfortunately the ice cream place was closed due to a power outage.

At least I got to see one of the remaining MC-6's.  I think there were only 100 built?

Thanks Steve.

Now that I have by fiance on board, so to speak, we may be able to start attending rally's and such after our honeymoon next April. She's given me indications that she would be open to travel. She's looked at some short Stick and Staple's for Park travel. Of course, nothing will be bought until we budget for our honeymoon.

Priorities, you gotta get them in the right order.  ;D
That said, put an RV on the list. It is OK to put it near the bottom at first, just keep the option open.
For what some weddings (+ honeymoon) cost, you can elope in a NICE coach that is paid for.   8)

BTW, you will have more say in the decisions before the wedding, after the ring, well, lets just say some opinions count more while yours counts less.  ::)  ;)

Congrats & good luck - with EVERYTHING!

Doug,

Congratulations!

Your family budget also needs to include a serious allotment for counseling for the "bus addiction"!!!

LOL Thanks guys. We're going to Alaska. I mentioned renting a 4x4 camper, and she said "Nope! Bed and Breakfasts!" I said "How about a Bed and Breakfast on 2 or 3 axles?" She said in effect: That would be nice for the Grand Canyon....So We're doing Alaska by car... ???

Anyway, stay tuned...she really liked the classic lines and power of the 6.... (She used to drag race at the local track in her teens and 20's...) :o :o

FYI, the MCI6 is a very heavy bus. The same power in a lighter weight bus will be lots more fun to drive.  ;D
