Whew!

I had a failing compressor, bad compressor governor and purge valve to begin with but......

My rear brakes were completely out of adjustment in fact they probably were hardly working, (which is weird because Gumpy and i just adjusted them last summer and I haven't driven it mor than 3-4k mile since then) I had a shot DD3 canister in the rear that was leaking and I was about to head out to the mountains with my family and a tow car. That wouldn't have went well.

The good news is it's fixed and a mechanic I trust did the work.

Leaving Sunday from the Church parking lot Yeehaw!

On a sour note the A/C compressor had trashed reed valves which i didn't have fixed because it's getting down to the 30's at night in Yellowstone and Glacier and we didn't want to go on vacation poor because of unneeded repairs!

We'll be taking lots of pics.

Do you have manual or auto slack adjusters on the back?  I found a failed manual slack adjuster on one of my fronts, the locking ring would not lock the adjusting bolt.  I ordered new from Luke, I have bright gold Bendix slacks on the front, bling bling!

Um, did they indicate why they were out of adjustment?  We had them up good, and the locking ring was out.  Is something slipping?

You know, I adjusted mine this last weekend before we headed to CO, and I noticed my drive brakes were about a full turn out, as opposed to the 3/8 that I back them off. I think C&J adjusted
them last fall when I had the oil changed. Can't recall if that was before or after the Moose Lake gathering. I reset them and didn't have any problems on the way out to CO.

This is why I use any combination of the 3 Coleman 13,500btu roof airs for my A/C-even though I have to run my genset going down the road.  In 16 years, no problems.  Good Luck, TomC

Rick How long will you be in Montana? I plan a trip end of the month. I will be in Broadus first then in the Helena, Townsend area over the 4th. Might cross paths?

This is one reason that I take my bus over to C&J every year and have them do the oil change, fuel filter change, brake check and adjustment, and lube job.  They also inspect everything underneath when they check the brakes and lube everything.  I don't have a good way to get under the bus like C&J does.  It cost me $400 last year.

I think TomC was replying to the second part of the post about Rick's OTR air conditioning not working.

well,

It's official folks...I am batting 1000 in the bad rebuild department. The compressor we just put on has a bad head gasket and is leaking out of the head!!! and the new brake can leaks as well. Sometimes you just gotta laugh ;D ;D

In the last two weeks I've had a bad oil pressure gauge, a bad rebuilt purge valve, a leaking rear housing plate on a rebuilt compressor, a bad head gasket on the same compressor and the DD3 can they just put on two days ago leaks.

So far the only things that are working are the oil and fuel filters and the exhaust tail pipe!! Knock on wood

The good news is we leave Sunday, the bad news is instead of having it in the shop I need my bus here so I can pack it. Well, this is one of those times when our agenda takes a back seat to life's agenda and you just gotta laugh and roll with it.

Moving forward come hell or high water...
