Double pane windows

In recent discussions we have talked about double pane windows or the window shrink wrap stuff.  I got to looking at my windows and I believe I can take it to my cousin who owns a custom window company.  The frames provide plenty to attach another pane of glass to it.  For not a lot of money I think I can get it done.  We are at the lake right now and Texas is living up to it's standard heat wave.  I am with family and we are texting back and forth because it is too hot to sit outside.  Should be nice this evening.  Anyhow if I pull the blinds up I can feel the heat in front of the windows.  Double panes should knock a lot of that out.  He might. Be able to seal and gas the pane but I need to ask him before I make that claim.
