Good day
I will be removing my drive tires for an ispection on my brakes etc. I have also noticed that one of my air bags has a few cracks in it. Therefore when I get home tonight I would like to get this thing blocked up and taken apart. My question is how and where does one block the body up seperate from the axle. I believe I will want to be able to move the axle up and down to get my new air bag in place with my jack. A block between the axle and the rubber body block won't work as I want to be able to move the axle independantly of the body. I'm all ears. Thanks

Body jacking point is the frame member that the lower radius arm attaches to (other end of radius arm attaches to axle). There is a flat spot on the bottom of the framing member for a jack.  Jack

After pulling a wheel you'll see what Jack is telling you. I had to also pull one end of the shocks off to get the rolling lobe springs in place. I think the original bellow type probably don't need as much clearance.

One other question, is it alright to block the bus on the large beam that the bottom plate of the air bag mounts are attached to?? Sorry for the bad desciption, just not sure what they are called. The one on my drivers side was in poor shape and I welded plating onto it. That is why I ask, seems like they aren't all that heavy of a beam considering the size of them. I would use half of a rail road tie or something similiar.

The only place you should block the bus is under the body jack points or the axle jack points.  Nowhere else is specifically reinforced to take the load properly.  That said, that beam is pretty stout and if you spread the load as with a rail-road tie, it will probably be fine.  But you won't be blocking the bus with that rig-up, just the rear axle.  Blocking the bus means directly supporting the body of the bus separate from the suspension.

Thanks Brian
It will take me a few days to complete so I want to drop it down on something while I'm gone during the day. I don't feel comfortab le leaving it up on jacks while I'm not there. So I'll try the tie.  Thanks again

Since you're doing the drives, just put the tie across between the body jack points of the bus, and drop it down on that.  It'll just sit there forever and be completely happy.  if you take the rear springs off, the axle is going to just hang there anyway, it won't be bothered by that.  Just don't take the shocks off and drop the axle with the springs still on - that will tear the springs off.
