I see from the MCI site that the two strokes (6V92, 8V71 & 8V92) were the only engine choices until the D coach and the series 60. Does anyone know if there were other engines available during the two stroke era, like Cummins L-10 or Cat 3176. From time to time I see a coach with one of these other engines and wonder if it had been a repower or special order.

Yes, the L10 was an option.  MAK has sold CAT powered MCIs and I am pretty sure they were factory installs.

I never knew of any options till the model 12 just before they stopped production why would Greyhound pay big bucks for Stewart and Stevenson to install the series 50.
I belive they still make the model 12 for prison buses I see a few around El Paso with 4 strokes

good luck

I found a 102C3 for sale on MCI's site that says it has a Cummins 330 engine.  I recall seeing several MCIs with L10s when I was looking at seated buses to convert.
