What kind of a bus is it?

Sounds like the torus fan drive for a V drive.

Engine oil pressure regulated via a thermostat varied the fan speed.

happy coaching!

The fan drive is on a 692 detroit which was put in a 4107 GMC replacing the 871.It is not a torus drive. The housing is smooth with no ribs.
