I have a 1989 6V92 DDEC II that was originally programmed for something below 300 HP and max RPM of 1900 with 1020 torque. I had a Detroit dealer burn in a new DDEC program to 350 HP and max RPM of 2100 and torque of 1050. That particular dealer was not too sharp on the 2 stroke engines and they "thought" that the same turbo would work for box settings. I am not too confident that this is accurate information. Her is the question: Do I actually need a different turbo for this program to actually get the full HP and torque?

A second question: What would a higher volume/pressure turbo do for me and would it work without damaging the engine (of course not allowing the engine to over heat)?

Greg, can you tell us what turbo model number and the A/R ratio is on the housing then we can help you.The 2 strokes with a higher volume/pressure turbo will not make it run cooler all the 92 series I have seen running high boost pressure 25 lbs or more leak oil my 8v92 does fine around 15 to 18 lbs  good luck

I guess it would help, huh?! It is a Garrett turbo and the number on the compressor is A/R 75  M24. Does that help?

Did your DD give you any serial number info for the power upgrade??

Greg can you find a ID tag on the turbo?
