Hi Folks,

What do you think about an ID plaque/Decal to identify Bus Conversion Mag. BBS Members on the road or rallys?

Any ideas on designs and material woul be a big help.

Here is another thread started on this subject.

Here is MAK's License plate

I note that Neoplan is conspicuously absent from that plate  :)

I would like a license plate but not the design they have now. Something a little more classy.

A true bus nut is one who could have any brand of coach, even Neoplan! ;)

They should not be brand sensitive, a simple statement about bus conversions and the boards they belong to. Our Eagle group has business cards with our group name, website and name of the coach owners with email address to hand out to Owners of Eagle Coaches.

Maybe some of us don't want to be recognized! ::)

Whatever is decided upon, it should be classy and well recognized by all.

FWIW,

Where is the "ambivalent" check off box?

The back of my Prevost has a spot for an additional marker plate so a plate would be great to fill the space with, but No phone numbers, states or towns on the plates in case something changes then the plates are useless. Keep it simple but get the message across.

How about something which also serves a practical purpose, such as a plaque or decal which also includes a "Private Coach" sign, and which would fit well beside the door?

BTW, I don't think that even a stylized bus illustration should be on it, but that there should be various in-joke logos incorporated into it.  For instance, a flying saucer or My Favorite Martian antennae for those of us with TMCs (built in Roswell NM), "Mr Goodcoach" for GMCs, etc.

I suspect that if a decal or maybe a even few items could be made available to look nice and not be overly expensive to buy even in limited quantities then people would very likely buy them, that includes people who don't think that they'd be interested right now. I'd buy one for the bus and possibly for my car depending on the size etc, I'm not usually a fan of stickers on my cars. The key is to make it look good.

I think that what is really needed is an actual virtual store where items such as decals, caps, mugs, key chains, maybe shirts etc could be purchased without actually advertising for any particular person or agency, only advertise US and our unique interest in buses!
It isn't only to allow others among us to recognize but also allow others who have interest but no knowledge know that there are actually groups for us sickos and we aren't just one or two people who convert an old bus and that they can find us....and join us. This could attract new people and interest. I get asked all of the time about my bus and people are surprised to find out that there are many more than one or two of us, I was asked just today by a delivery guy who has an interest but thought he was alone in the idea.

It would take work and time but again, I suspect that people would buy. Maybe a portion of any profits could go towards a cause such as helping owners with health or breakdown issues? Take care of our own so to speak. I really don't mean to detract from anything that Mike already has but only add to the inventory of options. I for one already own the poster etc.
A couple other items that may be of interest for people would be the  <-Passing Side - Suicide-> stickers or the ones that say" Insanity has replaced all reason in the building of this vehicle" or along those lines.

The question is, who has the knowledge, time and willingness to put into a project like this or will the idea die here?

Here yah go. Excuse the cliche oval disc, and excuse the unlicensed VectorDesigner message. I downloaded the software to try out. It's ok, except for that pesky message...
