Check your coach if you park it outside!

I found that we got egged on one side, get it off before the sun cooks it!

I like mine over easy, but this isn' funny. :'(

You are right Paul!!! It isn't at all funny!!! I don't think anything about Halloween is funny or cute. Nowadays it has gotten to where it is a big celebration of death. Since when was death something that is cute and enjoyable? They say that it is "something for the kids"... wrong... since when did kids enjoy death?

Okay I will get off of my soap box.

God bless,

John

I got egged once and was very worried about the effects on the paint. I was told to take a botle of Dawn liquid soap and mix some water to make a solution that could be sprayed over the effected areas with heavy soap content. I let the area sit (not hot days) for about 15 minutes making sure I continued to spary the most heavily affected spots. I then took the bus brush and scrubbed the area and then resprayed with Dawn. Of course this was done with the pressue washer.

Finally, changed out the wand tip and when to town spraying off the mixture. No evidence of the eggs at all. I think the eggs had been on the paint for less than 24 hours.

Hope that helps.

Our hockey team bus gets egged once or twice a year. About a month ago at a game in Fernie, BC, on the windshield on my side. It won't come off with the wipers and w. washer. I had to get it off with hot soapy water and a sponge the next day. Last year at a 7-11 in Golden, BC at 3 AM we pull in for a break on the way home from Sicamous. Lots of kids in the parking lot. They go in, buy a dozen eggs and got the whole side of the bus as we were pulling out. I would get a little more off every time I washed it over several weeks. That's hockey...!

Paul,
Scrub the eggs off ASAP.
Same thing happened to me many years ago with the old PD-4104. :'(
We gave it a good wash and nothing happened to the paint.

I don't think it hurts the paint. It's just hard to get off with a pressure washer. Hot soapy water and a sponge works good.

I got it all off! ;D That stuff is like glue, but it's all gone now. I had that happen one time when I lived in Phoenix AZ, it had been on there at least 24 hours, and it was a real hot day to boot! I used WD-40 and it came right off and no ill effects.

Something that I did not have in my plans today. :(

Oh well, back under the bus! :P

An Off Topic and FUN thread.  Thank you.  We actually ran out of candy early..got nailed by many many kids.  Had to switch to laundry $change$.  Plus our liberal use of two (2) 20# Co2 bottles on the older kids MAY have made a difference.  He he he.

Anyway, had fun and I'm hung over.  This AM checked out all the outside stuff along with our cars and haven't found anything yet.  No eggs either which is good.  Ages ago we just soaped windows and stuff.  How times change.  Thanks. HB of CJ :) :) :)

We haven't had any trick-or-treaters in over twenty years living in at least five different places.  We even lived in a regular neighborhood in New Orleans back in the 80's.  Maybe it was the German Shepherds that kept kids away.  I guess between the Shepherds and sometimes relatively sparse locations, we have missed out on all the fun.  One time we lived in a place that was owned by a Yoga group.  The area was somewhat narrow minded and suspected devil worship.  That may have kept the wannabe ghouls away too.  They didn't want to mess with the real thing.

HB of CJ, I thought the topic was ON TOPIC as it really was bus related! And it was on target too! ;D

I just didn't want anyone to go out later and find out they got egged also.

More people look here anyway. The Mods can move it later if they choose.

we only had one batch of trick or treaters, libby thinks it may have been my choice of handing out olives, we probably should have gone with her choice of pickles

If that's how it is perceived in your neighborhood, you should do something to change it.

In my neighborhood it is very far from the gloom & doom celebration of death you see. Several decorate with giant spiders, witches crashing their brooms into trees, & others are riding hoover uprights. It is a celebration of possibilities, an escape from the drudgery of the same old thing, & a reminder of the fun times that are possible.

It is not dark & sinister. Quite the contrary, The streets are filled with families laughing & talking. Seeing those we haven't seen in a while, catching up with how others are growing. Seeing old friends & making new ones.

(We also have a July 4th bicycle parade too.)

I haven't heard of any egg throwing around here, maybe we were just lucky, maybe the kids were having fun with out the need for that .  .  .  .

lostagain,

Maybe the paint today is better than "in the day".  I haven't even thought about this for 30 years so my data is very dated.  BUT!  In my day, if you left the egg on over night you were sunk.  The paint under the egg would come off as though you used "stripper" on it.  I am amazed at what I am reading about Phoenix sunbaked egg washing off, etc.  I am not arguing though..on the contrary, I'm getting educated.

Thanks all,

John

Dreamscape; yes, it IS Bus Conversion related.  Thank you. Fun also.  Can one imagine the $damage$ undetected/dried/old eggs can do to a very expensive coach paint job or polished SS?

Our apartment complex is "55" or older, soosss families know it is "safe".  Also well lighted with some decorations, which explains the 100 kids or so, plus parent/adults.  HB of CJ :) :) :)
