Hi Jim,

What was the search term?  I tried bendix and got quite a few results, so I think I am probably missing the such paramaters.

You are correct, if I search on your name, I get about 40 results..  Instead of the 80 you posted.  Tho', I'm not sure I am using the correct search parameters.

Let me know if I am on the correct path!

Phil, I am probably doing something wrong.  If I put "safetyman" (part of my post name) in the advanced search, I only get 10 threads.  I think I have responded to more than 10 threads.

Hi Jim,

Got it.

Actually, for search - fill out the two boxes (search and by user) like this :

Search for:  bus                     by user:   rv_safetyman

When I do that, I get 20+ posts from you listed.

I think if you want to search by only a part of your username such as  "safetyman", you would have to wildcard the search such as :

Search for:  bus                     by user:   *safetyman

I get 20+ hits that way also.

Does that work for you?

Let me know - hope this helps,

OK guys, you are dealing with an idiot!  The thread I was looking for is over on BNO.   I could have sworn that it was on MAK a while back.  Obviously, that is why it does not show up!!! :( :o

However, the experience with searching is quite interesting.  I did the search Phil suggested:  "bus" and by: "rv_safetyman.  That got a lot more hits.  Probably 50-60% of the threads I have posted to.  However doing a search on "safetyman" does not work even though other words show up when they are part of another word.

Don't have any more time to play, but it appears that the search engine is not as flexible as I had hoped.

I think it does shown only one post per thread.

Hi Jim,

To search with just safetyman, you have to use the wildcard.  Which for the search engine is the *  symbol.

ex: *safetyman

Hope this helps, Phil
