Rudy's, you buy your entree by weight.....wat an oz get an oz, want two lbs get two lbs....

Rudy's is definitely good B-B-Q, but it's a chain... even has B-B-Q AND a gas station right on the Interstate in El Paso (among others).  For my money you just can't beat places like the original Sonny Bryan's in Dallas. It's at 2202 Inwood Road near Love Field.  They open at 11:00 am, take only cash, close when they run out (usually before 2:00 pm)  you sit in your car or stand in the shade outside, and wipe the sweat, BBQ sauce, and grease from your face with a napkin... if you brought one.  Bryant's has opened "chain" versions throughout the MetroPlex, but they're just not the same.

Even though it is a chain, I need to vote for Rudy's also.  Sides are not great, but the BBQ and sauce are outstanding.

The Salt Lick in Dripping Springs has great BBQ and a great location.  However, the sauce is on the sweeter end of the spectrum.
