I had purchased a smartwheel with the column, clockspring and master control module. Does anyone have any experiences installing one/ Looking for wiring diagram, contacts for parts & service at vip etc. Thanks ray

TomC

Typically, smart wheels use two or three contacts on the wheel that leads to a multiplexing unit.  The switches have their own "tone" (like a telephone).  When you push one of the buttons on the steering wheel, the switch transmits its' distinct frequency to the multiplexing unit that figures out which frequency it is and directs it to whatever needs to turn on.  Without the multiplexing unit, the smartwheel will just be a dumb wheel with a bunch of switches on it.  Good Luck, TomC
