On our 1988 102A3
There is a air valve or regulator in the first bay, curb side front by the heater control valve.
Two 3/8" air lines going to it.

WHAT IS IT

I can not find this in the books.
We had a electric operated heater control valve. I know that some buses had air operated heater control valves but not ours.

Paul, That is the pressure protection valve.  This is the valve that allows air into the accessory tank only once the main wet and dry tanks are above some pressure ... I think it is 70 psi.  Anyway, MCI moved it to the baggage bay above the heater control valve because they were susceptible to freezing in earlier models.

Do you suspect your valve for any reason?  Is it causing any problems?

Just want to know their function, in the event of trouble.

Have removed the bus heat and have no heat in that bay.  Now we have the Freezing problem again.

The 3/8" copper lines on the valve go forward but I do not know where to. If they are in the spare tire compartment. I could move the valve inside the bus under the driver seat out of the way.  Or to the water bay were we will have heat.  Maybe wait till I have trouble and fix it then in the cold.
Were can I read about this valve?  I found no mention of this valve in the book. Is the valve adjustable or preset?
Has any one had trouble with this valve freezing after removing the bus heat?

I Know go south in the winter.  That's what we are planing on. We do need to come home for Christmas to see our kids, grand kids & great grand son.

that line  valve i believe comes off the front tank and feeds ether both air wipers and horn or just horn i may be wrong but thats what mine looks like john

That is a pressure protection valve, however...

until you trace where the lines go, it's purpose is unknown.

Variations have been in use for decades, valves freeze if they have moisture in them, not by virtue of their geographical location in the coach.

It is adjustable by turning the cap. Best done on a bench with a regulated air supply in order to set it properly.
