The air quality has been worse than LA the last couple days and my truck is covered in ash, but it's unlikely the fires will get to my house. I'm about a mile SSE of the Chula Vista HS evacuation center. The whole region is disrupted by the 500 thousand displaced people and the closure of I-15. Most schools have canceled classes for the week, many businesses and public offices are closed, and there isn't a hotel room left anywhere. All the local stations are on full-time fire coverage, which means no commercials or regular programming (I missed Heros!).
