I went today to an Airstream dealer in my area tolook at the Zip Dee awnings they have on them. The Airtreams have the Zip Dee because of the curved side roof line like the Prevost. I paly around with the sales man setting it up formthe rolled up position and it seems very awkward trying to get it set up and even rolled up. My question is what are you other Prevost XL ownwers using for awnings? How have you delt with the curved sides etc. I am looking to retain most of my orginal glass sides and will need a lot of awning to keep cool. Thanks. Steve C.

hello from tyler tx
seems if you leave the windows in there is not much room to mount a awning.
we left all the windows and install no awning . it is a lot of heat load but sure is nice to be able to look out side.  we installed blinds on each window. thank j.t.

I don't know what kind of awnings these are, and they are not fitted to a Prevost, but clearly it is possible to mount the awnings on the roof rather than the side of the bus in order to be above the windows etc

A shameless plug for my business - visit www.magazineexchange.co.uk for back issue magazines - thousands of titles covering cars, motorbikes, aircraft, railways, boats, modelling etc. You'll find lots of interest, although not much covering American buses sadly.

I've got a ZipDee awning on my Prevost. I looked at a lot of awnings before I bought ZipDee ... other than automatic awnings Jeremy points out. I wasn't willing to spend the money for a automatic so ZipDee was the only one that seem to work with the curved side of the Prevost. ZipDee use to supply just about all the awnings for a LeMirage before the automatics came out.

Once you get on to it, the setup it not that bad, I set mine up by myself all the time in a few minutes. I think ZipDee makes a very strong, well made awning.
If you phone ZipDee and tell them that you have a 40' Prevost LeMirage, and the roof raise if you have one, they will tell you what awning you will need. I would also order the slider bars (see under, products/accessories on ZipDee's web site) You can order direct from ZipDee.

Hi,

I bought mine at RV Surplus Salvage in Elkhart.  It is a 20' Carefree.  I ordered the curved arms through them as well.  It is excellent and I am very satisfied with it.

Here are some pictures:

Good luck!
