I got a Rostra cruise from Pete , but for the speed sensor I connected it to the speedo sensor.Pete in his instructions said MCI's may have 4 bolts on drum for sensor but mine only has 1 .Speedo works fine but not enough pulses for unit.Any ideas?

Granted the King Cruise is different, but I have a speedo generator on my transmission.  They said that it wasn't strong enough either to run the cruise unit, so I bought a through drive second generator.  You mount the additional generator first then it has a drive that you mount the original generator.  It works great, and is accurate.  My point-maybe you'll have to install a speedo generator on the transmission and run two wires up to your cruise unit-unless the cruise unit is in the engine compartment where it'll be that much easier.  Good Luck, TomC

I did one a few years back on a Flyer and used the driveshaft magnets and ran a shielded cable to the back of the bus.

When I got my new Rostra I already knew the stock pickup would not work so I ordered the driveshaft magnet kit
but haven't gotten it installed yet on my MC9 .

Someone once said that it would be possible to pull the front brake drum and add more bolts around the perimeter
to reolve the issue. However I haven't looked at that yet myself, It's easier to add the magnets and pickup on the driveshaft
for me and I will the next time I can get under the bus. ( just for grins and giggles! ):)

Hi

One bolt on the hub will only give you somewhat less than 500 pulses per mile (PPM) - The Rostra Global will work well with a PPM ranges of 2000 to 38,600 -

On a bus that's about 4 bolts heads on the front hub = approx 2000 PPM

Because adding more will throw off your speedo - I have Rostra driveshaft magnetic pick-ups for $25 plus actual shipping

when the PPM valve is set into the rostra setup switches - it enables the Rostra to engage a speeds over 30+ and makes (TAP UP/DOWN) about 1 mile per hour

Actually if you set your unit to the lowest PPM setting of 2000 PPM - yours would start working at about a minimum of 120 MPH
(sorry - justy couldn't help myself)

If you ain't part of the solution, then you're part of the problem.

I didn't know it wouldn't work so I hooked my King Cruise up to the transmission sender for the electric speedo.  It works fine.
