We are wondering if there is any interest in a get together here in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan.  Bus nuts seem to be far and few between in this northern region but we have a lot of mosquito's that will starve if we don't bring in a fresh blood supply lol. The campground I was thinking of using is the Ojibwa Campground in Baraga, it's nice and right on Keweenaw Bay on the south shore of Lake Superior, the downside is that the sites run up to $10 dollars a day.  If anyone is interested we'll look into it to maybe get the cost of the sites down a bit.  I'm thinking maybe august for it.

Cody, there is a rally scheduled in Shepherd, Michigan this summer. I really do not know how close it is to you. Here is a link with details:

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, a good Reisling in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming:  WOO HOO, what a ride

Hi Cody,
My wife and I might be interested.  We love it up in the UP.

HOWEVER, I currently have no engine in my bus and don't know when it will be running yet.  I'm working on a repower and just can't predict when I'll have it on the road again.  Things are going very well right now, so I may be done before then.  So, we would be a tentative based upon my progress with the current project.

There is a "get together" for the great lakes Converted Coaches chapter in Berrien
Springs over memorial day weekend.  The chanter is in charge of security at the G.L.A.S.S FMCA rally.

Just to let you know that there are rallys scheduled.  i know there are others also, including one in Ontario.

i'd like to get to the UP, but then i couldn't afford to get to Florida when it snows in Ohio!

My wife and I would consider going to the UP, but a lot would depend on timing of events for work. I would not be able to commit for sure until about 3-4 weeks away from the date.

We would consider coming depending on timing (the later the better).  My wife has an aunt in Marquette that we keep threatening to visit.

Just to give a little more info, the campground has both 30 and 50 amp power, a marina, people fish right off the shore of the marina, the hookups are electric only but there is a dumpstation and water there. the sites are borderline huge and level.  The campground is on a penninsula that juts out into Keweenaw Bay and the sites are almost all waterfront sites, the small town of Baraga is about a mile from the campground for running for ice or bread, they have a website, I think it's listed as Ojibwa Campground so anyone can check it out, my thoughts were to just get together, maybe a pot luck and just sitting around campfires and complain about the cost of fuel lol.  When I say the sites are huge, I often park our bus crosswise to the bay to enjoy the view and have plenty of room on all sides, the sites arn't really marked so you can have as much room as you need, the onsite manager is a great guy that goes out of his way to help, he'll rustle up extra picnic tables and fire rings if anyone needs them.  It's a native American ran campground so anyone with native american heritage can stay for 5 dollars a night, often if the campground is fairly empty he doesn't charge at all lol.

That would be great it would only be a short trip from Escanaba the only thing I have in August is a Nascar race at MIS on the 17th, 18th & 19th any other weekend will work for me and if you need help I am willing, all you have to do is email me and let me know. I have been thinking about doing somthing like this myself so I want this to be a success so anything I can do please let me know.
