Hydrogen retro fit and semi retro fit diesel motors

I'm about to cry like a really bothered baby all the way up to Alaska from Florida come mid May. I'd cancel the trip but it's our tenth year since we bought the property up there and this summer I plan to finish the little place we built up there so we can fly  going forward. Will be running our 4104 pulling a trailer load - OUCH!

WTI oil open today at $102.00 a barrel we won't have a break in May or June ,the Hydrogen people better get going. My stand is not political, but the US needs to get of the global oil market so the flare ups in the world don't affect our prices at home, it works in the middle east where people pay $.15 a gal for fuel

Rethinking Long-Haul Fuel
Ever thought about swapping diesel for H₂ and electrons? They're making H₂ on-site using electrolysis driven by renewable power. In practice, water meets an electrolyzer, gets zapped with DC current, and splits into hydrogen and oxygen. That H₂ is then compressed, stored, and ready to fuel a Class 8 truck in under 15 minutes—enough juice for a 300–500-mile stretch. It's a clever way to turn wind and solar into real sustainable energy, slashing carbon footprints as you roll down the highway...

...NextGenH2 Truck: What's Under the Hood?
The new Mercedes-Benz NextGenH2 Truck features liquid hydrogen stored at a bone-chilling –253 °C in two 40 kg tanks, giving it a total capacity of around 85 kg. This setup allows for a jaw-dropping operational range of over 1,000 km on a single fill, already proven by the earlier GenH2 prototype that hit an impressive 1,047 km during its HydrogenRecordRun. The proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell stack does the heavy lifting of converting hydrogen into electricity at temperatures between 60 and 80 °C, driving an electric powertrain. The only waste? Pure water vapor—talk about a clean ride, right? This design minimizes the size of both the fuel cell and cryogenic systems, so they can easily fit standard trailer connections, making them a breeze to integrate into existing fleets.
