What's the best deal on a propane conversion for an Onan Microlite 4000? I figured you guys would know this one.

I know there is a reason but why, they use 2x times more propane than gasoline, and the 4000 becomes a 3600W on propane ,I had one in our TREK it never gave any problems but would suck propane when loaded

Well, I've set it beside the house for emergency power and have a 100 gallon propane tank sitting next to it that we no longer use for the oven and range or the fireplace and the propane won't go bad like gasoline would. Might as well use it for the genny. 4kw isn't going to be enough to run heat or AC but it'll handle most of the rest.

Brother had a Kohler generator that ran on propane. Factory unit. 4 cylinder 10kw. Worked well for him. He had a 50 gallon tank in his 04.

Alike genny units consume a whole lot more propane then their twin on gasoline.

I really don't care how much propane it eats. It's an emergency gen for the house now so it will rarely get used and we have a full 100 gallon tank sitting right next to it. That's going to last so long that the major expense is the annual tank lease. Might as well use it.
