Quick question about the drive wheel lubeication

Hello all,

I have just drained the differential oil, filled a 5 gallon pail.  I thought it would be more like 4 gallons based on my research.

Made me wonder if that oil lubricates the drive wheel bearings, like in my '93 F-350, or are they grease bearings?

If both options are a possibility what would be and easy way to tell which I have?

Thanks in advance.

The hubs on the drive get the oil from the differential

Hello Luvrbus,

Great, thanks for the reply.

I just filled it with knew oil.  I'm thinking I'll give the oil a chance to get out to the hubs and top off tomorrow.  What do ya think?  Any other suggestions?

The grease didn't drain from the hubs,it  is carried by the axles you need to remove the axles to drain a hub ,some have a plug to drain and fill the hubs
