Has anyone had a (RV or Cart) battery post seperate from the battery before? One of my Istates did totally flush with the case.
Looking at it, it appeared that there had been a partial seperation for a long time. Not an overheat and the battery was filled.

   Thanks

Not recently but I have in the past, the posts are poured and you can have a bad pour joint. Like a cold solder joint.

Skip,

As Lee said, not recently.

I have seen a few that "twisted off" when they were tapped with a hammer to loosen after the clamp bolt was loosened.  But, they probably had a questionable assembly.

Our power supply Technician changes out hundreds every year, and he told me when asked that he gets a broken one "every now and then"

Decent battery shops have little molds that they set on top of the battery, and with an acetylene torch, they gently melt the old surface and then pour in some new molten lead to re-create a brand new post.  Done properly it's as good as a new one and the shop here only charges $5 for the job....
