One other option to provide secondary, redundant securing is to run a strap, cable, whatever over the top of the panels and secure to the gutters on each side.


Aesthetically, some may not like the strap but it blends in well due to the location of the panels, the roof contour, and location and distance of the gutter to the panel



Until I redid the bracing, I used straps and they held things fine temporarily. The gutters are plenty strong and able to take the load.

Did you add a tail so they will fly better next time.

They flew just fine. Took right off like a jet, nice nose dive into the roadway too. got a gift on that failed experiment.

Make sure you don't cover any silicon as it only takes a minor shadow to cut the power output...

Fred. Yes, good idea. I think every panel is installed on rails so added straps can lay over them. Panels could still detach from the rails but that should be less of an issue if attached properly.
