Making progress on getting the "new" motor out of the truck ...

I am very happy to report I got the cab off the truck frame tonight.  I am only a few transmission mount bolts away from being able to remove the motor from the frame or the frame from the motor depending upon what works out easier.  I am very happy with how EASY all the bolts have come undone.  Even the big 1 3/16" bolts have come apart with minor fanfare.  I have been absolutely amazed at how little rust is on this thing.  So, by this weekend I hope to have the motor/tranny in the garage and ready for the next phase.  I also hope to have the cab all cut up with new Dewalt Sawzall by the end of this weekend.

Here is a picture of what it looked like this evening right after I pulled the cab off the frame

Wonder what your neighbors are thinking. The newer neighbors that are moving into my area (I don't really have next door neighbors, this is still somewhat rural) wouldn't be able to tell you what that was (They know what a golf club is though). I need more neighbors doing cool stuff like you are doing. Thanks for sharing, looking forward to more photos and updates.

Hi Laryn,
Thanks ...  Yeah, my neighbors are super cool.  I've had a few check in to find out what I'm doing.  Mostly I just try to be respectful of noise levels and time of day and try hard to keep things neat.  So far no one has complained.  :-)

Brian: I don't know how long you have been a busnut, but I see that you still have room for a car in your garage!  That should change by the time you have completed your engine swap.

Aw, the benifits of living out west. I didn't know what rust was till I moved east.

Hey Stan,
Yes, empty stall, but I have 3 vehicles total and 2 stalls!  So, I actually need to get rid of a vehicle.  Right now the Jeep GC that normally is in that stall has to be parked outside so I have someplace to put the engine when I get it removed from the frame.
