Happy Saturday morning everyone,

I am in Albuquerque an we're having below freezing nights and with everything going on I never really thought about a block heater.  It also fascinates me that there are no glow plugs on these engines.  Every diesel I've ever owned had glow plugs.

Anyway, went looking for a block heater today and this looks like one to me.  It looks like it's in a coolant line on the drivers side of the engine.

Am I on the right track?

I will test it today with the ol' multi-meter and see what I find.

Thanks

Seb

P.S. for some reason the picture is sideways.  If you tilt your head to the left it will be right. Haha

Same on my 8-71, but different location. Plug it in in quiet background and you should hear a light sizzling in about 20 to 30 seconds.

Everyone's pictures come out sideways Seb. It is just how we roll here at BCM. I figured out that if you point your phone at something like you normally would, then rotate the phone clockwise 90 degrees and snap the picture. Give it a try. Don't be afraid to send pictures even if that does not work. We have learned to turn our computers sideways. And you got 3 quick answers! Light her up!

There is a Wabasto.  So far have not figured out how it works, or if it works.

Phones know which way you took the photo and add a cookie to the info, but a lot of software platforms dont know how to find the cookie so it comes out sideways.
