There is a dealer in Idaho that restores Air Stream ,I stopped for a tour people are spending 2 to 300k to restore a $10,000 Air Stream from the 60's

Sounds like he went into the resto with the hope of making a buck. Not the wisest choice if you ask me, as no matter how strong the vintage trailer market it's not that strong. Sounds different than the people paying to have vintage Airstreams restored who are by and large doing it because they want an old Airstream to enjoy.

If he had used this beautiful trailer for a few years he would have gotten value from it. Unfortunately, the way he did things the only enjoyment he got was the build process itself, which is the most expensive part.

It's all similar to us in the bus world. Very few will ever see their money back when they sell a vintage bus. The money is spent because we enjoy owning & using the old buses, not because we consider it an investment.

Too bad they don't build those anymore. AIRSTREAM comes as close as you can get now. That looks sharp and beautiful inside but you still need a pickup truck to pull it.
