We started our bus journey in fall of "07 with out '87 MC9 NJT. its been a ride with ups and downs and almost two years ago we found ourselves as full time caregivers for my elderly mom..just prior we had gutted the bus for a remodel being a little wiser after our first build ( who we kidding, if we were wiser we wouldn't have a bus lol ). It sat and hadn't run at all for 2 years and this year we said, thats it, its got to go ! Tried starting it and no go ! worked on it for a week and was close to paying someone to look at it when a mechanic buddy saw the ECW sticker in the battery compartment and mentioned, no way is it going to fire without that fuse. I decided to double check the 5amp ECW fuse. It tested good, but the fuse holder was corroded. A little sandpaper to clean, replaced the fuse and hit the starter button. The ole' girl fired up like she had never sat. Much to the dismay of my wife, the past week tinkering on the bus has renewed my excitement ! So, here we go again ??? Ive been having a ball tinkering again and thinking about rebuilding the interior. My wife still needs a little convincing, but time will tell !

Good to be back here too and read all the back posts from the past few years !

Diy and Hgtv are killing us,when we remodel or do our conversions. Wives watch these channels and come up with all kinds of ideas, like deep cast iron bath tubs. lol

Congrats John!
Life is not a rehearsal. Our wives look at us with a cocked eyebrow when our bus disease takes over. But I think they realize:  we are not crack heads, we don't gamble the mortgage away, and I think truth be told, they like the buses too. They do the interiors, we do the greasy things, and hit the road again John!
My wife named our bus "Debt", but she shows it off to anyone who comes to the house (the inside). I show the engine and generator!
Best of luck.
