I'd like to say it's DOA but with things are getting very weird these days. This one is so early the actual text of the bill has not even been filed as yet.

Maybe the backers want every big truck to be running on electric in a few years. LOL

First thought that crossed my mind is if this bill is just a giveaway to the industry/company making this new renewable 'diesel' that they would be selling instead of petroleum diesel? The next was how much was that company paying towards the campaign fund of the politician pushing for this?

In the end, the likely result is that every trucker who can will fuel before entering the state to avoid using the stuff.

Only long haulers have the option to fuel up at state lines. think about all the other diesel trucks used for intra state use.

Either way, this bill is not going anywhere fast but still good to be aware there are some out there trying to kill off all petro based fuels.

"Oregon has become the first US state to pass laws to rid itself of coal, committing to eliminate the use of coal-fired power by 2035 and to double the amount of renewable energy in the state by 2040."

I imagine electric will get very expensive!

Gotta love the trrendsetters on the west coast. They are why my F 150 is aluminum instead of METAL like it should be. They are used to cheap electricity. The rest of us don't have power from dams on the Columbia.

Where to get our fuel from is an ago-old discussion. Here's an interesting article about the quest for new fuel after the forests of England were exhausted in the 1500s, partly responsible for why the colonies were settled.
