I have been losing a little coolant for a while. It's finally gotten bad enough to find. It's leaking thru the weep hole in the water pump, so I need a pump. I'm thinking either buy rebuilt or a kit and rebuild it here but new isn't out of the question. I don't think I will live long enough to wear out a new one though. In the past I just bought a rebuilt one but they were a lot cheaper in the '80s. LOL! Any opinions? How about a good source that ships to the East Coast?

Clifford,
Wouldn't you know it....... mine has the snap ring!  So what do you think? Rebuilt of kit? I saw a kit for $169 on Ebay but I don't know anything about the seller. Rather deal with someone that somebody on here vouches for.  LOL!

I don't trust catalogs--like to verify
with a casting #..I seem to always find
the exception to every rule...

The freight both ways kill you on a rebuilt pump unless you find a bargain,if the shaft, impeller, oil seal and bearing are good pop a seal in it, if the ceramic spacer is broken replace it so you don't need to deal with setting the gear lash lol most don't set the lash anyways though

That price is less than the rebuild parts.  It must be rebuilt in Mexico using Chinese parts.

Haldex just buys the stuff from a unknown vendor for resale ,their rebuilt air parts parts they do their own.I wouldn't buy a water pump from Haldex they sell the Haldex water pumps at CarQuest  JMO

Actually been selling Haldex water pumps for 17 yrs---maybe 1/2 dozen warranties in all that time..reman'd in N Carolina I believe...not afraid of them at all...core freight would be an issue. Still not a horrible price for old a$$ bus parts...not finding much else for 200.00 or less
I plan on ordering one for my 8v just to have when I start going thru
the engine a bit. 37 yr old bus--just don't know what might be 37 yrs old and still on there..
Just offering up an option
