Can someone confirm the part number for the 1978 MC8 steering gear? The one I found from docs not the bus is 11C-1-34.

Yes, it's in situ. But I'm down here in the Bay Area so can't physically grab a pic or number off the steering box. Hopefully, house will close and we'll be back at bus next week. We'll catch up. don

Good luck with the sell Don. All the Bay area people they said tonight on the news are moving to the Sacramento area. 1.5 mil. for 798 Sq ft home over there is 420K here for 3500 sq ft home with lots of land and a lot less traffic.

Update on the steering box. First, here are few pictures. I'm assuming this is the original Ross power assisted unit.

Luke has the part ready to ship (about $70 to West Coast) plus refundable core charge.  Mark Mason of Straight Line Steering can do it also, a bit cheaper but Gov Jerry steals his share plus some wait due to rebuild time and less convenience due to swap taking two sessions rather than a one session swap. So, no clear winner, just what works best for each situation.

Yep it looks like the original to include the big shock still in there.

Don you might email or call Ted Campbell at "Coach Maintenance" up in Williams, CA
They are just above Woodland. He generally during hot months starts work at 3pm because of the heat. I always email him and generally get an answer by the next day. It's all on their website.
