anyone have a schematic or info on removing drop box on 1979 silver eagle model 05 I broke input shaft while pulling in driveway in NC guess tire slipped then grabbed.i have working knowleded of mechanics,just have never worked on a bus before.i bought this bus last year and am ready to fix and get it on road

Remove the drive line at the top and remove the bolts where it bolts to the differential,easy to remove getting it high enough to get it from under the bus, and handling the thing I use a come a long with a piece of steel from side to side on the frame, floor jacks work if you have help.You need it high because the trailing arms are in the way and they are a bitch to remove and install

any one know which transfer case- drop box is in 1979 model 05 silver eagle??? part # or ?? tags gone exceot on axle housing.Thanks in advance

They are all the same.  If needed I have a zero mile reman for sale for 3,900.00.

So did the drive shaft from engine break? Or something in the drop box?

the input shaft on the top of dropbox broke even with housing.i have it apart now,but parts are scarce

it is Allison automatic,got drive wheels off edge of drive and when it caught,it snapped shaft

The secret to making a drop box last is the correct pre load on the bearings they will withstand a huge about of torque if put together right
