It's done when it runs!  And it ran great on it's first road test, which was the trip to the shop to get it's annual inspection so I can legally drive it on the road again.  In our province any vehicle with RGW over 5000 KG (11,000 lbs) has to be inspected annually.  It was very neat to pull out and apply the throttle and feel it run up to around 2000 rpm and shift nice and tight from first to second!  It shifted quickly and semi-firmly, well controlled, and just about exactly when I would have shifted manually.  Up to fourth, I could feel the lockup, and it down-shifted smoothly at corners.  Very happy.  Next steps are to get a temperature gauge wired up to the dash so I can monitor temps, and maybe pressure as well.  What kind of pressure inside the external cooler line would I expect to run?  Another question answered - zero driveline vibration from the short, out of phase driveshaft!

Color me happy this rainy morning!
