Starting With A "Skinny" Conversion - Required Equipment and Cost Estimates

Something that will affect your budget is tools.  Tools to work on the bus and tools for the conversion.  If you don't have it and can't borrow it, then you will have to buy it.  Even the cost Harbor Freight tools will start to add up.  If you are buying tools for the sole purpose of the conversion, then the less expensive tools should hold up long enough to get the job done. 

I bought almost all my tools and borrowed others. My most used tools... electric drill/screwdriver (borrowed), circular saw (borrowed), angle grinder $15 Harbor Freight plus innumerable drill bits I've bought.

Tip... if you need to use a hole saw to cut holes in bodywork... Harbor Freight has good, cheap hole saws that might cut metal.

You need to read Geom's travails, on page three now,. Can you deal with a breakdown like this, both emotionally and financially? This hobby isn't for the faint of heart.
