Olebusman :Just out of curiosity have you towed your SGV yet?? I too pull one of these things ,a 2010 and in the OM it says the max towing speed is 55 mph.I do fudge and actually tow mine at 60 with occasional shots a little over this ,I am curious as to what speed you will tow yours at?

  No bigred, I have not toed it yet. I usually run 75 or so. I'm hoping not to stop or worry about speed. I haven't found a base plate yet soooo I don't know what will happen. My old toed was a Jeep grand cherokee 93  and I had no problems other than the damn thing always overheated.  olebusman

What year model is your SGV ?Mine is a 2010 and it was a pita to set up to tow. I had Camping World set mine up and they had to practically remove the front end in order to do it. The older model SGV/Trackers were fairly easy to set up.I too ,towed Jeeps for years but at high speeds ,I kept loosing transfer cases .Finally started towing at about 60 to 65 mph .Never lost a transfer case after that plus got 2 mph better on fuel .

I just got it,05. My jeep had been over 100,000 miles behind my 4106. finely lost a cyl. on the second engine. No transfer case problems. By looking at various directions I already ordered new push pins for the body stuff. I don't want to spend for a new base plate as an old susi can loose an engine at any time.  olebusman

I know what you mean ,because it was a pretty good hunk of change .Base plates them selves weren't that bad but the labor was and this was before Camping world started trying to get rich off every customer!! I really wish they would start selling Suzuki's in the US again .I would love to have another one and have even thought about going to Canada and buying one ,but from a service standpoint it is not feasible.Bought mine new in 2010 .It now has right at a 100,000 and I have done nothing but put brake shoes ,tires and batteries and kept the good old Castrol changed ..

One thing that you may or may not know ,not sure about 2005,but in 2004 GM sold the GV as a Chevrolet Tracker. 2004 and 2005 looks alike to me so it might be worth while to check base plates for Chevy Tracker .
