Anybody running Sumitoma's?  What do you think of them?

dumpstation.  Stop by and sit a spell.

One of our fellow SE BusNuts rode a set of them all the to Alaska and back - no problems. But he did upgrade to Firestone's after a while, and the ride and handling are better. Another case of 'you get what you pay for'.

One thing to watch on replacing tires with new ones of different brand. Almost always, a new tire of same ply rating will ride nicer than one of noticeable less tread, as the additional tread depth will provide greater cushioning. For a while, at least.

I put Sumitomas on the front of my MC-9 three years ago and have about 9,000 miles on them. They are showing no noticeable wear and drive just as well as the previous tires. So this past year I put four more on my drive axle. I did notice a smoother ride compared to the old tires. So far I have been satisfied with the performance of these tires. In the future I will move the steers to the tag and replace the steers with another set of Sumitomas.
